"I'm late... On the video." |
|
Sorry. Haven't played through the new Audio-Surf pick yet. Been kinda busy this morning. I'll have the video up later. Before that though, I wanted to point out this Q&A over at RPGamer.com in which one of my letters got responded to by Oliver. This is the second letter I've submitted to Q&A and I'm happy to say that both have been responded to on the site. Seriously the staff over at RPGamer really takes care of the community. Makes me wish I was more involved over there, but I'm not and I'm too lazy to change. Anyway... Thanks Oliver! Lataz. |

Just added a video from City Of Heroes. It isn't anything special, but it is kinda funny. Lataz. |

"Special Update!" |
|
I finished the three "new" songs. They are all up in the player: Verse Us, Follow The Dead, and House. Verse Us and House were both beats that I made for Vince, but seeing as how he rejected them I was just gonna let them rot. However due to a lack of new content lately, I decided to just throw some random vocals over 'em and put them up here before I take off so at least some new songs will be waiting around for those that drop by. Honestly they all suck pretty bad, but Verse Us is actually pretty fun to listen to. Kinda cheesy and pointless, but at the very least they are better than nothing. Lataz. |

"Audio-Surf Daily Challenge - Outrage The Innocent" |
|
The second song from the Audio-Surf Daily Challenge has been announced and it is Outrage The Innocent from the Taking Out Anger album For Never! There is a video of me playing through this song in my video player for those that want to check it out. More coming as the week goes on.. Still haven't finished those new songs have I? Blah! Also I went ahead and put the links back up for the older albums on the main page. It just seems easier that way... Lataz. |

"Audio-Surf Daily Challenge - Baise D'Esprit" |
|
The first song from the Audio-Surf Daily Challenge has been announced and it is Baise D'Esprit from the album +255! There is a video of me playing through this song in my video player (I took down the one of Vince's song as it was just a test). I'm still working on getting another song or two done before I have to start moving. I'll update as we go. Lataz. |

"Audio-Surf ROCKS! Again!" |

Just wanted to say I put up a test vid of me playing through one of Vince's songs. More to come! Lataz. |

"Audio-Surf ROCKS!" |
|
I know it has been a number of days since my last update. I apologize to all those that care. All five of you. I'm sorry. I've been busy playing City Of Heroes a lot. Also messing around with a game called Hellgate: London. Both are good games, and both worthy of attention, no doubt. However there is another new game I've been playing and I must say it is the most interesting, and possibly the most innovative idea for a video game that I've heard in a long, long time. This game is called Audio-Surf. Allow me to rant about it for a moment. You can take any song you've got, mp3, cd, whatever... And it turns these song into roads. These roads have blocks on 'em. You dodge the blocks, or pick them up. Depending entirely on their color. All of this is done while listening to the song you chose. There are a variety of difficulties and different vehicles for you to traverse these roads. So far I suck at it and generally only play the uber easy difficulty where there is only two colors of blocks and you can hide on the sides of the track if you don't want to hit anything. I'm a n00b. It can also get insanely hard though. So, there is enough there to keep people entertained that either like a challenge, or want to relax and get lost in a game for a bit. In short: Audio-Surf ROCKS! Something else that is pretty awesome, is that the Audio-Surf forums are a great place to go to meet up with other surfers and talk about tracks or songs you've "surfed". There is even this awesome add-on called: "Audiosurf Daily Challenge". Wherein you download this small program that has an update and a free song for you to try out every day. It can also launch the game for you, which is great. I posted in the forums that I had a bunch of music if anyone wanted to "surf it". The person running the Daily Challenge (ViRUS) has decided to devote a full week's worth of challenges to my music. I am beyond honored! I'm anxious to see how it goes, and I'm going to try to do something a bit special on this site to honor it. Namely, I'm going to create an album called "Audio-Surf: The Kain Vinosec Pack" made up of the songs that ViRUS chooses for the challenge. The pack will be available to download as soon as I know the songs and get the chance to upload it. Also, I may (don't hold me to this) attempt to record myself doing runs of each of the songs on the super easy mode to put up in the flash player. All depends on whether I can record it without the game chopping up any (my computer is kinda lame, but recently upgraded so with any luck...). Below are some links for things I've mentioned about Audio-Surf. Audio-Surf Official Website: www.audio-surf.com Audio-Surf Forums: www.audio-surf.com/forums The Audiosurf Daily Challenge: http://www.audio-surf.com/forum/index.php/topic,3553.0.html Alrighty. I hope everyone checks it out because it is really just an awesome game, and the Daily Challenge is a great feature to have available. Also, speaking of me making videos, there are two new ones up! Yup. I made a couple of videos of some stuff in City Of Heroes while I was playing. Nothing special, really just testing stuff out, getting used to the ideas and whatknot. Moderately high quality (640x480 was the best I could do, sorry) and naturally I used my own songs because I'm lame like that. Moving on to other things; I'm preparing to move. Going back to Oklahoma on the 2nd and there won't be any internet access for awhile so I won't be updating for a bit. I'm trying to get a decent amount of new stuff up for everyone before I take off in the hopes that it'll tide you over until I can find a way to get back online and start updating again. With any luck, I'll be able to finish a couple of new/old songs to divert your attentions while I ninja away. Oh! Really cool news is that Vince's new album is gonna drop sometime around Halloween. I can't freakin' wait! I did a couple of beats for him, and I know he spit some amazing verses over the stuff. I can only hope that they made the final cut. It'd be awesome to hear some of my music teamed up with some of his vocals on a real album. I'm really looking forward to it! That's pretty much it for now. I'll try to update at least once more before I take off. Lataz. |

"New Video = Converted Old Video + My Flash Player x Awesomeness." |

I got the high quality version of that vid by ALTTF up in the player. It looks a bit better than the YouTube versions I will admit (in terms of quality of course). Check it out, let him or I know what you think. Lataz. |

"Sunk Metal = Surf + Punk x Metal." |
|
Two new songs up in the player but they're both piles of crap so don't bother listening. Also got a new video up on youtube (not mine of course, but my song was used). This one comes courtesy of ALTTF, whom I worked with on Mouse Avoider. The song is of course To Accomplish Hatred (from The Championship Battles and most recently appearing on Selections I). The vid is nice, probably not the best but I'm a big fan of it nonetheless. I hope you'll all check it out (links provided below). Now I'm gonna rant for a bit, and first I'd like to apologize for the length of time between the last two updates. I've just been busy not giving a damn. So, I've discovered something tonight that is very unique about myself. I suppose we all have crutches as human beings. I mean this world is so screwed up it seems impossible for anyone to make it through life without something to rely on. Something to help them cope with all the bad things or even the good things sometimes. Everyone needs something to take their mind off, help 'em relax some. For some people its drugs, or music, or friends, or that special someone. Other people can get a bit weirder like needing a dominatrix to spank them and tell them they're pretty. Me? I use television shows. Let me explain. Back when everything in my life was quite possibly at the height of craziness, I stumbled upon a show called Smallville. It was such an amazing experience watching this show, that I found myself daydreaming about being a part of that world. What's more, is that as long as I was watching the show, nothing could bother me. All I cared about was that show and everything going on in it. Everything that sucked in my life, was bothersome, even whatever might have been good, just got erased because I could just slip away and see what Chloe and Clark were up to. Doing this, I watched the entire first six seasons in something like a week. Six seasons of one show in a week. It was amazing. My point is that I was using the show like a drug. As long as I was watching an episode, as long as there were more episodes to watch, everything was fine. My head was clear, I wasn't worrying about anything... It was amazing. I'd never experienced anything quite like it. Though I didn't really know it at the time. So since then I've been finding different shows to watch like that. Something that can give me a "fix" of clarity. It is really weird, but it works so amazingly well that I've watched a bunch of shows. The sad part? My tv isn't even hooked up to cable. I watch these shows, literally seasons at a time. In day or two-day long bursts and as long as I'm watching them nothing else matters to me. Everything is perfect. Exactly like drugs. I've seen every episode of Smallville ever made. Ever. The same can be said for Veronica Mars, House M.D., The Tudors, Spaced, 30 Rock, Californication, Family Guy, Futurama, Death Note, and most recently I'm smoking a nice long ball of crack called Scrubs (I just finished watching the first two seasons in less than two days). This seems awkward to me. What is moreso awkward is that after I watch every episode of the show that has been compiled in a long run, the show loses its magic. Waiting for new episodes to come out and watching them one at a time just doesn't do anything for me. I still like the shows, but the magic of it being like a drug is gone because I know after 30 minutes or an hour, it'll be over and I'll be waiting again and stuck in a miserable wad of life. I mean, when I was younger... Hell, anything before like two years ago even, I just watched shows. It didn't do anything special for me. When I watched Smallville though, something opened up inside of me that saw this as a way to escape everything real and fall into a daydream of fantasy characters and situations that I'd give anything to be part of. Why am I posting this on the website for everyone to read? Two reasons. First: I want to know if anyone else does the same thing or something similar. I've never heard of anyone doing anything quite like this, but it is highly entertaining and it seems like I can't be the only one. Second: This is a blog. When I have a revelation and no friends to talk to about it, naturally I gotta put it somewhere and that's what this blog is for. Okay, I'm done ranting now. Feel free to email me (kainvinosec@aol.com). Now, on with the video (Also I'm working on converting it to flash for a higher quality version to be put in my video player... Until I get that worked out, here's the YouTube link.)!
